A THANK YOU LIST FROM ZEN-TRIFUGE

Posted by Winston's Zen on 10 July 2009

WHAT A WAY TO START!

So..... that was that then!
Zentrifuge exists.

The first night is now behind us and what a night it was! I'm writing this at nearly 5pm the next day, and I still haven't come down from the buzz of it all.

Everything surpassed our rather timid expectations. Everything.

I feel indebted to so many people. So it's time to say some thank yous.

Firstly, to Dave my right hand man, for sticking with it when things looked tricky, for making sure half of Kilburn knew about the night, for his excellent backdrops, for halving all my worries and for everything else he did too.

Thank you to Melanie Phiskie for digging out her best frock for her beautiful opening set, for putting up with introducing herself and for making out to a room full of people that I'm mates with Oasis. Anyone who was there early enough to catch her will testify, that girl has one hell of a voice.

Thank you to Damien Renouf, for generally being right up for it all night, for fighting the crowd noise (yes, there was a crowd!) and still managing to have his brilliant acoustic set heard. Look out for this lad, lyrics like his don't come round too often.

Thank you to Turrentine Jones, for coming all the way down from Manchester, for giving us the pleasure of hosting their first ever gig, (I know! Can you believe a set that good has never been played before?) for being a top bunch of lads and for bringing some much needed Northern glamour to the chaotic "after-party".

Thanks to Graham Wood and everyone else behind the DJ booth, firstly for getting to the church on time, and secondly for bringing and spinning some awesome sounds on the decks. And to Maggie and Angie and whoever else took their turn on the door for doing such a good job.

Thanks to the guys at the North London Tavern for their help and support, for giving us that fabulous space to perform in, and for generally letting us get on with what we were doing.

Massive, massive thanks go to our audio and video guys. Sim and Chris did a brilliant job all night in difficult circumstances and against ridiculous deadlines. Without them and their obvious brilliance, the night would never have happened.

And our extra special thanks to everyone who showed up, paid their money at the door and made the night what it was. Each and every one of you. You turned up in numbers I could only have dreamed of forty-eight hours ago and totally rammed the place out. You've given us the confidence to carry this thing further, and made a man who feels very old, very happy!

If you were there and you enjoyed yourself half as much as I did, please, go away and tell your friends what a great night you had.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

We hope to see you all again at the next Zen-Trifuge gig night. Please go ahead and join the Facebook group to be kept informed of future events

Oh, and to whoever it was who stole the cash-tin at the end of the night; next time try to conduct your miserable little theft BEFORE we cash-up, you'll find that works a whole lot better from your end!

Back soon with photos, reviews and videos of the first ever Zen-trifuge gig night.
Winston
