THE PLAYLIST THAT BRINGS INNER PEACE ...

Jesus, is it December already? Then I must be ten posts behind schedule by now, better pull out something special to make up for the lack of activity round these parts recently......

How about the the follow up to last months encouragingly successful ZenList? Ten of the most head turning tracks from serious talent and seriously talented amateurs alike, cherry picked from the dozens of artists all eager to grab your attention that knock on Winston's virtual doorbell everyday? Do you like the sound of that? How about if this particular playlist just happened to be a bit of a bit of doozey. Would that make up for my absence these last few days? Is that enough questions in the one paragraph?

It's time for - The ZenList Vol 2, think of it as a mixtape I made just for you....and you.....and you.

You remember mixtapes right? Some of you must've been alive in the 80's. Well this is my digital version. And it's been made with every bit as much love as the ones you made for your teenage sweetheart all those years ago (but without the insufferable hindrance of pause buttons). So, you know what to do. Click play to listen or right click the track to download, head for the zip file for all ten tracks. Whack it on your MP3 player, discover a new a band, pass them on to your friends, buy a CD, get a ticket for a gig, buy a T-shirt while you're there. Everyone's happy. It's the same way enthusiastic teenagers have grown into stadium filling demigods since the dawn of recorded music, so why should now be any different?

Unlike the 80's though, this mixtape has diplomatic immunity over copyright laws. Winstons Zen has sought permission direct from the artist* to bring you a guilt free download experience.

Track 4 - Archangel - How to Lose Your Best Friend

These days it only takes one man to make an eighties synth-pop classic. Friendly Fires-esque in both energy and throw-your-head-back hook.

MySpace | iTunes

Track 5 - Bluejuice - Vitriol [Pious Edit]

Upbeatmotivational missive from more Aussie indie rockers, stomp along to the aural equivalent of Happy Gilmore.

Track 6 - The Resistors - UTA

Imagine Dave Gahan joined Editors and insisted on a soaring U2-alike chorus and you'd probably come up with UTA. North London rocks right now

Track 7 - The Carletons - Stop Now

Impressively mature sounding indie from these Preston teenagers, all the right influences present and correct. Free tracks available on Last.fm and Facebook

Track 8 - The Screening - God Save The Queen

These Leicester based anthem wielding rockers are ready and waiting for the bigtime. You heard them here first!

Track 9 - The Buzz Reflectors - Stand My Ground

As fresh as talent gets. Blessed with an ear for a nagging hook and throbbing with raw energy The Buzz Reflectors pack a powerful punk punch.

Track 10 - Fugitive Kind - Break Now

Thrashing guitars and haunting female vocals taken from debut album You're Being Watched, set for release in 2009

And there you have it. What do you think? Love it? Hate it? What's your favourite track? Tell me....seriously. I wanna know what you think. Hit the comment button below. (Personally I'm nuts about the Skipping Girl Vinegar and The Buzz Reflectors numbers -awesome stuff!)

If you're an artist or a representative and you want your music to appear on the next ZenList, I'm all ears. Apart from the bits of me that are legs, and arms and stuff. Use the Contact section and send your MP3's (as high a quality as possible please) to the submissions address.

Look out for The ZenList Vol 3 next month.... God willing!

Keep up the goodness, y'all.
