V2008 Review: Paul Smith and pals apply some welcome Geordie pressure

Probably the stand out set of the day so far for me. Newcastle four five piece Maximo Park deliver a set tighter than a fishes grin, snagged on classic indie hooks baited with juicy riffs. Visibly enjoying himself, dapper frontman Paul Smith encourages the crowd to make V signs at the stage, and snaps himself a souvenir photo.

Smashits hits Our Velocity, and Apply Some Pressure, predictably rock the impressively busy main stage the hardest.

Winston is rapidly developing a desire to wear a bowler hat...

It is SUNNY, SUNNY, SUNNY. Come on!
