V2008 LIVE: AIR TRAFFIC ON THE 4MUSIC STAGE

Posted by Winston's Zen on 16 August 2008

V2008 Review: Bournemouth indie upstarts Air Traffic get the weekend rolling...

The morning’s rain has relented and Saturday’s action kicks off in blistering sunshine, forcing many revellers to scuttle back to camp to swap wellies for flip-flops.

The honour of being Winston’s first band of V2008 is bestowed upon Bournemouth four piece Air Traffic, and despite initially suffering from mic problems, the Zendar favourites inimitable brand of piano led indie rock attracts and maintains a respectably decent opening-slot crowd. Unsurprisingly, No More Running Away and the anthemic Charlotte receive the most vocal response from those gathered around the 4music stage.

Beachballs fly through the air, as Chris Wall ends with the ever popular Shooting Star, and as bunch of over enthusiastic kids get the customary pushing and shoving started nice and early, the Zen sneaks off to brave the queues for beer, appropriately warmed up (physically and mentally) for the weekend ahead…..
